What is OSSLT?
The Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) measures whether or not students are meeting the minimum standard for literacy across all subjects up to the end of Grade 9. Successful completion of the literacy test is one of the requirements to earn an Ontario Secondary School Diploma. All students across the province write this test on the same date, usually in late March or early April each year.
Why choose us?
CCYC OSSLT Test Prep Program helps you to prep efficiently and effectively.
The Test Prep series consists of 10 classes, with each class lasting 2 hrs. Each class will be spent on preparing for both the Reading Comprehension and the Writing components of the test.
Our Reading Comprehension booklet includes recent newspaper articles, short stories, diagrams, and information paragraphs so you will have practice with answering all genres that are included in the test.
Our Writing booklet includes questions that are similar to the ones found in past tests. Questions are designed for short responses (1 paragraph) as well as long responses (essay format).
Our instructors will provide coaching and feedback for how to obtain the best possible scores for each type of question.
A bonus class for a mock exam is available. The mock exam consists of select parts of the exam, including multiple choice questions and written responses. You will receive a score as well as suggestions for further improvement from our instructors.
